I have always enjoyed playing with paint even as a child and could not receive a better gift than a colouring book and pencils or paints for Birthdays and Christmas.
Although I have always been involved in some sort of craft including a career in costume making and design it was not until 2005, when I retired that I started to explore my great love of painted art.
After trying other mediums, I decided I wanted to learn to paint with watercolour and I’m still learning and enjoying the versatility and fluidity of the medium. I love colour and am inspired everyday by the flowers and birds in my own garden and the bushland that surrounds our home.
I was involved in the 2010 Logan Open Gallery Program, which was a great success and also the Logan Artists Assoc. exhibition at Circle Gallery, West End in 2011 and I have exhibited and sold paintings at Jimboomba Quota Art Comp. 2009-2011, Ipswich Art Awards 2010-2011, D’Arcy Doyle Awards 2010 and was Awarded an Acquisition Prize by Ipswich Art Gallery in 2011.
